Jennylyn Mercado has ended speculations that she's jumping ship after she signed a new contract with her home network - GMA Monday afternoon, July 4
Present in the contract signing are GMA Network's big bosses Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon, President and COO Jimmy Duavit, Chief Financial Officer Felipe Yalong, SVP for Entertainment Lilybeth Rasonable, and others.
Tagged by her network as the Ultimate Star (based from her Ultimate Survivor title as grand winner of reality-based artista search Starstruck in 2004), Jennylyn is set to do more primetime shows and tv specials in the future.
Rumors of network transfer started to arise when Jennylyn did a movie opposite John Lloyd Cruz with GMA's rival network's film arm Star Cinema early this year. Rumors were strengthened when the actress' network contract expired last month and no solid answer was given by her camp. Add to this is the alleged ABS-CBN's standing offer to the actress to become a kapamilya star.
But now that it's over, kapuso fans of Jennylyn can now have a sigh of relief.
It is said that Jennylyn is set to star in GMA's own version of hit Korean drama "My Love from the Star" which will pair her up with the Ultimate Bae Alden Richards.
Sooo... how much is the agreed talent fee hike which we think she deserves? Just asking...
