"Apparently I'm big in Thailand", Luis Alandy tweeted on his Twitter account Thursday morning
"Thank you Thailand for making me a star and trend in your country w/ this picture. I will see you soon." he posted on his Instagram account along with the photo of him in half-nakedness - a publicity photo for his character in GMA-7's 2010 Iza Calzado-starrer series Beauty Queen where he played a meat butcher.
The tweet and Instagram post came after his photo was first posted by Facebook user Golfsuda Nam. Then hours later, it was shared thousands of times. Thai people started commenting as to where the market was because they're going to buy whatever he was selling. Kaloka, di ba?
The popularity of the photo made a spot in a Thai news channel revealing that he's actually not a Thai, not a butcher selling meat on the market but actually a model and actor from the Philippines.
And so Luis tweeted that he's big in Thailand, thanked the Thais for making him a star, and planning to fly there soon.
We hope Luis was only making a good time when he tweeted it and not taking the bait. He's still too cocky anyway. chos
