Jam Vhille "Jam" Sebastian, one-half of real-life YouTube couple Jamich, has died. He was 28.
"The fight is over, we lost the battle my son Jam Fernando Sebastian just passed away 10:30 am March 4, 2015," said Jam's mother Maricar Sebastian.
Jam had been battling lung cancer for about a year. He was put on life support Thursday, February 26, as reported by his fiancee Paolinne Michelle "Mich" Liggayu and her dad Christopher on Facebook.
He briefly woke up Friday to write a message for his fans, and woke up for a longer time Saturday, February 28, able to interact with family and visitors.
On Facebook, Jam's brother Yexel Sebastian posted a video telling followers that they were taking Jam off life support. Mich also took to Facebook to ask fans to pray, thanking them for their support. (READ: Jam Sebastian on life support, friends ask for prayers)
News of Jam's cancer diagnosis surfaced March 2014. Since then, Jam's family and Mich have been constantly updating fans on his condition via social media.
Jam rose to fame on YouTube with girlfriend Paolinne through their channel Jamich – a combination of Jam's name and Paolinne’s second name, Michelle.
The videos feature Jam and Mich in different scenarios, telling different types of love stories. They first posted them just for friends, but soon gained a passionate following.
Most recently, Mich set up a flash mob surprise for Jam, just this past Valentine's Day, with Mich saying was that all she wanted was for Jam to feel the love from fans and friends. The couple got engaged last May
