Piolo Pascual thinks Nora Aunor doesn't need the National Artist recognition

Piolo Pascual, being a known supporter of President BS Aquino and a proud Vilmanian, thinks Nora Aunor doesn't need the recognition to be given by Malacañang as National Artist.

In a charity event held for kapamilya actor's upcoming ABS-CBN series entitled Hawak-Kamay, Pascual was asked for his thoughts regarding The Superstar's "un-proclaimed" name as national artist.

"I don't know if it's still needed. Kailangan pa ba nating gawaran ng ganiyan? Let the experience speak for itself. Let the achievements or whatever recognitions she's had speak for what she's done", Piolo said.

The Palace had approved six names excluding Aunor's to become national artists on their respective fields based on the recommendation submitted by NCCA since last year.

Chairman Felipe de Leon Jr. said they will be asking Malacañang about why the star was not among those who will be receiving the honor.
