Actor and Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla, was rushed to a hospital Saturday morning, February 8, due to gunshot wound he sustained on his upper right chest, News came came from Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor Remulla.

“He sustained a gun shot that went through his upper right chest. I don’t know how it happened,” Remulla said in a phone interview on Saturday. He’s alive.”

Revilla is currently confined at Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City, according to showbiz columnist Lolit Solis who also serves as talent manager of the actor/politician.

Solis told broadsheet paper Inquirer that the younger Revilla was hit hard by his father’s incarceration due to the pork barrel scam.

“Medyo humina loob niya”, Solis said, adding the son “lost a source of strength and stability.”

“Jolo idolizes Bong. Jolo lost a source of strength,” she added

Solis declined to give further details. “Let’s wait. It’s too painful,” she said. “I’m crying over what happened.”

“The Revillas are asking for prayers for Jolo,” Clifford Elorde, media officer for Senator Revilla, said the family would issue a statement soon.

Update:

According to Atty. Raymund Fortun, Jolo was cleaning a gun when he accidentally pulled the trigger which caused the wound on his right chest, "GMA News TV Live" reported.
