Celebrity stylist Liz Uy took to her social media accounts to express her side against entertainment blogger Michael Sy Lim, owner of FashionPulis.com, on Monday, November 9.
In her post, Uy made a stand for herself and other celebrities whom she did not mention as victims of cyber bullying by the popular website owned by Lim.
According to her, she could have remained silent as what others have done but realized cyber bullying and spreading of untruthful and malicious gossips through his blog will continue if she'll let him get away with it and we quote:
"As a former fashion editor, I was trained to uphold FAIR and RESPONSIBLE journalism at all times.
When I transitioned into celebrity styling and accidentally became a public figure myself, I learned to embrace that being scrutinized by the public is part and parcel of that position.
However, sometimes things can be taken too far and place me in a bad light, discrediting my hard work, my team, and my styling company.
I am not the first victim—many others have chosen to remain silent. I could have done the same, but in the end, I realized that if we always let him get away with cyber bullying, then he will continue to propagate untruthful claims and malicious gossip on his blog and social media accounts.
Thank you to everyone who has expressed their support. I am fighting this battle not just for myself, but for every single person—celebrity and otherwise—who has been bashed relentlessly and unfairly. #StopTheHate"
The issue stemmed from an article "Stylist Makes Maine Mendoza Wear Recycled Gown on Historical TV Event" which Lim posted on his blog about the gown which Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza wore during Eat Bulaga's #SaTamangPanahon event at The Philippine Arena.
Because of this, Uy received several criticisms for "being lazy" of not thinking better gown to dress up the "golden girl" at the moment.
Based on the latest reports, Uy has to yet file online libel and slander against Lim at the court.
Prior to this, the blogger was arrested in August of this year by the Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Unit following a warrant of arrest issued by the Antipolo City Regional Trial Court.
Lim was charged with libel by model Deniece Cornejo after the blogger wrote an article that the latter was sick with a sexually transmitted disease.
Lim, on the other hand, has posted his side on his blog and we're resporting it here below.
