A Second Chance makes 18M as of 5pm on its opening day

Star Cinema's latest movie A Second Chance, the sequel to the 2007 blockbuster movie One More Chance, has registered a new record.

According to Roxy Liquigan, the film company's AdProm executive, A Second Chance has the highest box office opening day gross for any John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo movie. The movie has earned a whooping PHP 18 miliion as of 5pm on its first day.

30 more cinemas were added and screening times were extended to accommodate fans to watch the movie on its first day.

By 11pm, Liquigan tweeted that the movie first day gross has reached P35 million.

Cruz, who is currently in Hongkong Disneyland, had expressed his gratitude to fans and moviegoers who had seen the movie.

Directed by Cathy Garcia and written by Carmi Raymundo, the movie also stars Dimples Romana, James Blanco, Bea Saw, Janus del Prado and Ahron Villena.
