Metro Magazine listed down the 10 most dressed ladies at 10th Star Magic Ball held last Saturday, October 22 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
COMING IN AT #10 is
Elisse Joson. Leave it to @elissejosonn to rock the best train of the night. This Francis Libiran dress is a stunner on the front but a dream when Elise at the back--as how real ball gowns should be! The huge bow makes for a real showstopper on the red carpet. She finished it of with an ornate gold clutch and that just polished off the whole look.
Coming in at #9 is Maricar Reyes! As if it's second nature to her, Maricar is consistently doling out looks with impeccable taste. Just last night, mere details like a low neckline and sexy cutouts on the side make the same impact as, say, a fully embellished dress. The minimalist in her found a perfect match with this Ivarluski Aseron black number. To further the impact? Look at that gold choker!
Next in #8. She's all grown-up,
Janella Salvador slayed the red carpet with her Jo Rubio low-back mermaid silhouette ballgown, showing off her curves in the right places. The beaded pattern details added the right amount of sparkle and completed the whole modern goddess look
Next in 7 is Arci Munoz! Picking a midnight blue Francis Libiran gown proves to be an ace move for @ramonathornes who stood out with her innate cool girl style. Her off-shoulder A-line gown is punctuated with a peek-a-boo slit that shows off just the right amount of leg.
No. 6 is
Coleen Garcia. Known for her killer physique and body clinging dresses, surprised us with a silhouette that was 100% ball appropriate. Delightful panels on the skirt of this massive Pepsi Herrera gown were contrasted by a sleek and sultry deep plunge bodice, creating a total look that we think speaks for the charming contrasts in every full-blooded woman
Radiating in #5 is
Bea Alonzo! Bea is living proof that a dress need not be custom made to look like it belongs entirely to you. Rocking a Tom Ford dress that showed all the right things in all the right places, we loved how Bea hit the red carpet in a runway ready ensemble this year. A beautiful smile and a dapper date topped the entire thing off ever so perfectly
Jodi Sta Maria proves the princess silhouette can be twice as elegant when done in the right proportions in this Mark Bumgarner number. The ball skirt's volume was delicately balanced with the off-shoulder bodice, with a smattering of crystal beads to give a sense of visual perspective. Plus, her hair and makeup is spot on, which gives the complete look a big thumbs up
What a close race! But here we have in #3, is the stunning
Kathryn Bernardo!
Sexy, sultry, this is the first Star Magic Ball of @bernardokath 2.0, whom we've been following since she came out with a "new look" last February in @metromagph. Even from afar, her Michael Cinco gown was all elegance as it twinkled under the spotlight. But upon closer inspection, you'll see the intricate crisscrossing embellishments and the meticulous beadwork that the Dubai designer is known for. Now that's how you rock a new look! TrĆØs chic!
A top red carpet look takes more than the right dress, you also need to have the right hair, the right makeup. Such is the case for the other half of the royal couple,
Kim Chiu, who slayed it with her embellished Val Taguba gown and emphasized it even more with her sleek pin-straight hair that seemed to continue into her cape. When he saw her last in London, she was basking in the sunshine with a kaleidoscope of colors, but this all black look suits us just as well. She does it effortlessly, and we couldn't be prouder of our September cover girl
Top Pick is
Liza Soberano! Liza’s name was on everyone’s lips in the weeks leading up to the #StarMagicBall2016 as the potential Best Dressed Female for this year. Our three-time cover girl did not disappoint. Liza herself helped conceptualize the Michael Cinco number that was equal parts modern and timeless, staying true to the celebutante’s conservative personality but youthful spirit. Might we add that she also hit a certified home run with impeccable make up and enviable bangs (that may or may not have been inspired by her August Metro cover!)
