Elaine Cuneta, mother of Megastar Sharon Cuneta, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 5. The announcement was made by granddaughter KC Concepcion through her Twitter account.

Elaine was pronounced dead at 12:06 p.m. because of profuse bleeding and other internal complications. She was confined in the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Luke's Medical Center Global City in Taguig for a month.
Elaine is a former beauty queen, singer, and actress, starring in films such as "Bondying" in the '50s. She had two children, Chet and Sharon, with former Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta, whom she married in 1993 after years of living together. She is also the sister of actress Helen Gamboa-Sotto.
