Showbiz columnist Aster Amoyo confirmed in her write up for Pilipino Star Ngayon that Angel Locsin will still be donning the red bikini.
In a dinner get-together hosted by ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak for officers and members of Professional Artist Managers, Inc. (PAMI) a few days ago, Amoyo asked Star Cinema big boss Malou Santos if the actress will still be playing the superheroine despite announcements in the past that she's giving up the role. Santos did not deny the issue.
The event was graced by ABS-CBN top executives like Cory Vidanes, Malou Santos, Deo Endrinal and other business unit heads of kapamilya network,
This could be the reason why we're seeing Angel becoming active again, doing physical activities like mountain hiking and scuba diving. Just recently, her photo on Instagram went viral making a Darna pose while hitting the gym.
For a time, different names surfaced as possible choices but netizens still prefer the actress.

One netizen who attended a screening for Enrique Gil's Dukot in July last month attested that it's still Angel Locsin playing Darna in the updated teaser of Darna movie.
