Watch: Full trailer of Everything About Her starring Angel Locsin, Xian Lim, and Vilma Santos

Star Cinema has released the official trailer of their first movie salvo for 2016 "Everything About Her" starring The Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos and Angel Locsin on Sunday, January 3.

In the movie, Vilma plays a powerful, strict CEO of a big company. During a doctor's check-up, she learns that she has cancer, and is then assigned a nurse (Angel) to take care of her. While taking care of Vilma, Angel must also convince Albert (Xian Lim), Vilma's character's son, to come home from the US and live with them.

The movie drew positive response from netizens as this would the first time (after a long time) Santos will be seen in a light drama movie which will team her up with her son's girlfriend - Angel.



Directed by Joyce Bernal, Everything About Her is scheduled to be released on January 27.

What's the latest on Angel Locsin?

 

For those who have been sending messages through our Facebook page and asking for the latest news on Angel Locsin, we have some good news for you.

No. We're not making some announcements regarding her engagement or wedding talks with Luis Manzano because these things are yet to happen. As what Angel said, "“Basta, ang alam ko, I’m committed to do Darna after my movie with Tita Vi."

Instead, we are consolidating the projects and guestings the kapamilya actress will soon be doing. But first, we congratulate Angel Locsin for bagging two Best Actress trophies in a single week.

Two Best Actress Trophies in 1 Week

Angel Locsin bagged two Best Actress trophies for her portrayal as Monica De Villa in ABS-CBN's 2014 hit primetime series The Legal Wife. She received her first trophy from Gawad Tanglaw last Thursday, February 19 at the University of Perpetual Help in Las Piñas City. 

Locsin also went up the stage of the 1st Paragala: The Central Luzon Media Awards Saturday night, February 21 for her second Best Actress trophy for The Legal Wife.

Angel Locsin returns to It's Showtime

Angel Locsin will return to ABS-CBN's noontime show It;s Showtime as co-host from last week of March and first week of April this year.

She will also be returning for an all-out acting performance at the the country's longest running drama anthology - MMK this March. It will be her fifth episode after her last appearance via Mask episode with Paulo Avelino last October 2013. Other episodes Locsin has appeared in are Pilat (Sam Milby), Blusa (Dimples Romana), and Litrato (Jake Cuenca).

Angel is slated to start shooting a yet to be titled movie with no less than the Star for All Seasons, Ms. Vilma Santos, starting March this year. The movie will be handled by Bb. Joyce Bernal.

A delay in shooting for the movie was encountered due to Santos's hectic schedule as governor of Batangas. She also had some minor allergies on her nose last month.

Darna 2015

According to Erik Matti, the director of the movie, Darna is scheduled to shoot this year. He has yet to finish his movie with John Lloyd Cruz while Angel has to finish first her movie with her future mother-in-law.

Yes. She will again be flying back to Bangkok for another shoot for a tv commercial.

Celebrity couple Angel Locsin and Luis Manzano are this year's special participants of Batangas province's annual Alay Lakad event, a project of Gov. Vilma Santos. The event aims to gather funds that will benefit the out of school youth in the province.

The event however looked like a campaign sortie for Luis Manzano  who's rumored to run for a significant position in the province come 2016. Her mom, Gov."Ate Vi", is finishing her last term as governor of Batangas.

Jericho Rosales joins Angel Locsin and Vilma Santos in new Star Cinema movie

Fresh from the success of his ABS-CBN series The Legal Wife and his recent honeymoon with wife Kim Jones, Jericho Rosales will find himself busy again in a few months.

Soon, Rosales will reunite him with his co-stars in The Legal Wife but in two different projects. On tv, he will co-star anew with Maja Salvador and Box Office King John Lloyd Cruz tentatively titled Bridges.

While Rosales will be joining the Best Actress of her Generation and "The Legal Wife" herself Angel Locsin and the Star for All Seasons Ms. Vilma Santos in new Star Cinema film. Title is yet to be known.

The movie which is said to be shown before Darna 2015 is intended for a Mother's Day 2015 presentation of ABS-CBN' film outfit.

According to Ate Vi, she plays a super rich but sick mother of Jericho Rosales  and Angel Locsin will play as her caregiver.

“Mayamang-mayaman ang role ko na may sakit at caregiver ko si Angel. May mga isyu ako sa anak ko (Jericho) at hindi kami nagkakasundo. Si Angel naman may mga problema sa pamilya niya."

Meanwhile, Rosales is gracing the cover of Garage Magazine's 6th anniversary issue this August 2014.

Vilma Santos and Angel Locsin, together in a Star Cinema film

When it rains, it pours. Seems like this old saying is fit to Angel Locsin these days. After the very successfully run of her recently-concluded primetime series The Legal Wife, Star Cinema recently announced that Locsin is gearing up for her return as Darna but this time in movies.

The film production has promised that the latest Darna movie will be Philippine's biggest yet. ABS-CBN's film arm has hired the best post-production outfit/special effects team to handle the visual aspects making sure it will be at par with the Hollywood movies.

But Darna isn't the only big project Locsin is preparing for. According to abante.com.ph, Star Cinema has lined up a movie to star Angel with no less than the Star for All Seasons, her future mother-in-law, VIlma Santos.

Seems like the Star Cinema big bosses are not giving up on this one huh. Although Santos had already said on her previous interviews a month ago that doing a movie with Locsin and Luis (her son) isn't clear as of that time, no matter how many scripts had been submitted to her for approval.

But whatever happened within that short period of time, this is surely a welcome development. Luis Manzano isn't joining them anymore but we heard Piolo Pascual will take the role instead. The movie hopes to be shown this year or before Darna movie in 2015.

Nora Aunor and Vilma Santos lose Best Actress Award to an Indie Actress at 2014 Gawad Urian

The Superstar Nora Aunor (Ang Kwento ni Mabuti) and The Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos (Ekstra) both lost the Best Actress award to Angeli Bayani, lead actress of indie movie "Norte: Hangganan ng Kasaysayan" at the 37th Gawad Urian.

The name might not be familiar to many but Bayani is the same woman whom the world-renowed film director Ang Lee called "a national treasure" for her compelling performance in Singaporean family fiilm Ilo-ilo which competed in the 50th Golden Horse Awards held in Taiwan last year.

The 2014 Gawad Urian Awards named its winners at the Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City Tuesday night June 17.

Nine movies were up for the top prize, with 7 actors and 9 actresses nominated for the lead acting honors.

The ceremony, hosted by Piolo Pascual and Bianca Gonzalez, also celebrated the works of film director Mike de Leon, who was given the Natatanging Gawad Urian award by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Filipino.
