Marian Rivera stars in Carmela, a Monica Bellucci-inspired film

Malena, an Italian film released in 2000, is about a woman who provokes sensual awakenings in a group of adolescent boys. Played by Monica Bellucci, Malena is the most beautiful and envied woman in the town. All men are attracted to her. Every woman hates her. Her only fault is her powerful appeal and beauty.

Forward to 2014, GMA 7 is fielding in Marian Rivera as Carmela. The series carries the same concept as Malena. As to how it will be different will be up to the hands of the shows headwriter Suzette Doctolero and director Dominic Zapata.

Series premieres on January 27, 2013 on GMA 7.

Kris Aquino renews contract with ABS-CBN, says she never met with any GMA officials

Kris Aquino posted on her Instagram account @krisaquino214 regarding her recent issue on network transfer to GMA7 and we quote,.

May I set the record straight?

 1) I never met w/ any GMA officials but I am grateful to them for the generous coverage they gave My Little Bossings, primarily because of their longstanding partnership w/ Vic Sotto & the Eat Bulaga family.

2) I had met w/ MVP (Manny Pangilinan) in October & again Dec 23 of 2013.

3) I have been w/ ABSCBN for 18 years & like any other family we've had our ups & downs and sometimes unavoidable "tampuhan"- but we remain FAMILY... My manager Deo Endrinal continued talks w/ our ABS bosses during the Christmas break & it is w/ much joy that I share w/ you that we have RENEWED my ABSCBN contract.

I am grateful to my ABS CBN bosses, Sir Gabby, Ma'am Charo, and tita Cory for the trust, value & importance they have given me. What I have become as a host, entertainer & producer came about because in 1996 FMG who was then president of ABS CBN told me, "Come back home." Vhong Navarro celebrated his birthday on It's Showtime who turned 37 years old yesterday. Guess who called straight from Canada to greet him - Anne Curtis. Audiende screamed when they heard the actress' voice via phone.

"This year sana maging sobrang masaya ka with your health, with your family, with your loved ones. At sana maging masaya din tayo this year... Happy, happy birthday Vhong. I love you," actress Anne Curtis said.

Surprised upon hearing the "I love you", Vhong asked Anne to say it again to which the latter changed it to "I miss you." Vhong made it clear that it wasn't the words he's supposed to hear but the one that's better than it. So Anne repeated saying "i love you" slowly and the audience went wild.

Aiai delas Alas endorses Binay for 2016. Is her friendship with Kris Aquino doomed?

When biological mother of Aia delas Alas passed away this week several showbiz friends and celebrities expressed their condolences to the comedy queen. But Kris Aquino, whom Delas Alas treats as "bespren", wasn't there. Kris is still in a holiday trip abroad with her two sons. Instead, a boquet of flowers was sent and a text message from Kris which Aiai ignored.

"“Hindi naman galing sa kanya ’yon! Nag-text naman siya sa akin. Hindi ko na lang sinagot,” said Aiai which leaves us wondering 'why'.

Could it be the reason why she's endorsing current Vice President Jojo Binay's bid for 2016 Presidential elections? VP Binay and Kris Aquino's older brother President Noynoy Aquino are in two separate political parties which the latter is pushing for Mar Roxas in the next election.

Delas Alas endorsed Pnoy during 2010 elections. Unlike Binay who paid a visit at the wake of Aiai's mother, the President's presence wasn't felt and not even bouquet of flowers from his staff was sent.

Wenn Deramas on Ihaw Na! Considers Tanging Ina Reunion; wants to work with Bea Alonzo too

Box office comedy director Wenn Deramas guested on Kuya Bhoy's Ihaw Na, a segment of Banana Nite on ABS-CBN Friday, January 3. Looking thin, the director jokingly told Jayson Gainza, Kuya Bhoy's alter ego, that he prepared for Ihaw Na guesting for 3 months.

The director revealed later that creating a new movie for his blocbuster franchise Tanging Ina series is being considered. It will be recalled that the last movie was subtitled "Last Na 'to" and making a sequel would mean eating up his own words but he's still considering it.

When asked by Kuya Bhoy who among the stars he would like to work with, the director mentioned Demi Moore, Meryll Streep, But later told the host he wants Bea Alonzo and only Bea Alonzo came up to his mind.

In a yearend report for TV Patrol by Marc Logan, ABS-CBN field reporters were caught at their most spontaneous moments. Ina Reformina taking a selfie, Gretchen Fullido singing while texting, Willard Cheng with his classic "panyolito" as per  Logan's description.

Atom Araullo was caught fixing his hair. There's nothing wrong about it but the way he did it was something "different" from other men who do it. But since Atom got the biggest exposure during Yolanda's wrath, Marc Logan gave televeviwers 5 seconds of his report to stare at Atom Araullo's cuteness on tv.
