From 300 cinemas, the Viva Films-produced biopic Felix Manalo is being screened in more than 400 cinemas nationwide as of this writing. The movie which tells the story of the religious organization Iglesia Ni Cristo's first Executive Minister made its pilot run in theaters today, October 7.
Bela Padilla who plays Honorata in the movie, wife of Bro. Felix Manalo, tweeted this afternoon that cinemas have grown to 400 according to her source.
In Twitter, various photos of people lined up to various cinemas across the country were posted. The largest mall chain in the country announced on Twitter that they'll be opening their cinemas as early as 8 am tomorrow.
This is the only film (local or foreign) that has reached such a record-breaking number of cinemas to accommodate the movie-going public.
Viva Films has also confirmed through their Twitter account @Viva_Films that the movie has exceeded records set by any local or foreign movie in local box office.
The movie also broke two world records from Guiness when it premiered at The Philippine Arena last Sunday, October 4 for having the largest number of audience in a film premiere and the largest audience in a film screening with 43,624 attendees.
