Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay stars today's hottest loveteam - Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla or KathNiel.
The movie is based on a Filipino superstitious belief that one should never go home directly after visiting a wake since it risks bringing evil spirits to one's home. One should first shake off (in Filipino, pagpag) whatever curse there may be to avoid being trailed by the soul of the dead.
Pagpag also marks the return of Star Cinema and Regal Films to do a collaboration movie after several years. Under the direction of a neophyte director Frasco Mortiz, the movie is expected to make thrills and frills in theaters come Christmas Day as it is one of the official entries in Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2013).
The movie also stars Shaiina Magdayao, Matet De Leon, Miles Ocampo, Janus del Prado, Dominic Ochoa, and Paulo Avelino with the special participation of Enchong Dee, Empress Schuck, and Erich Gonzales.
