President Rodrigo Duterte has just granted actor Robin Padilla an absolute pardon following their meeting at Malacañang Palace on Tuesday.
The absolute pardon grants Padilla his civil and political rights back which will allow him to travel and practice his right of suffrage.
"He has suffered enough, I think. Kung bitawan mo naman iyong tao sa labas, give him the rights --makaboto, maka-travel, whatever," Duterte told reporters.
Padilla, a known supporter of the President, was convicted of illegal possession of firearms in 1994. According to Duterte, he did not see any malicious intent in Padilla when he was caught with guns.
