Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, contenders for Box Office King and Queen title for 2014

It's only the first month of the year and still has 11 months to finish the whole of 2014 but Xian Lim and Kim Chiu are considered strong contenders for Box Office King and Queen title of Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarshiop Foundation (GMMSF) Box Office Awards.

And why not? Their movie Bride for Rent has reached the 200-million mark in less than two weeks. Looking at the current line-up of  Star Cinema movies scheduled to screen this year, KimXi is safe to secure the titles for themselves.

The pressure is up for Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga as their movie Starting Over Again is the next movie of Star Cinema to be shown next to highly-successful Bride For Rent .

Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera switch mothers for The Legal Wife and Carmela

On Monday January 27, the most awaited clash on tv will happen as the respective shows of showbiz rivals Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera will make its initial telecast - The Legal Wife on ABS-CBN vs Carmela on GMA-7.

Pero may isa pang programa ang GMA na magsisimula sa naturang petsa - ang Rhodora X na tampok si Jennylyn Mercado.

Sinasabing pagtutulungan ng dalawang kapuso stars na  pabagsakin ang palabas ng kapamilya actress. Kung si Marian at Angel ang tinuturing na rivals sa showbiz, si Jennylyn naman ay matatandaang nasangkot kay Angel dahil sa ginawang pag-amin ng huli na mahal pa rin nito ang dating boyfriend na si Luis Manzano na kaka-break lang kay Jennylyn three months ago.

Anyway, maraming hindi nakapansin ang kani-kaniyang ina ni Marian at Angel sa mga palabas nilang eere ngayong Lunes na sina Agot Isidro at Rio Locsin ay gumanap na ring ina ng bawat isa sa magkaibang mga palabas.

Si Agot Isidro na gaganap na ina ni Marian sa Carmela ay gumanap na rin namang ina ni Angel para sa fantaseryeng Lobo noong 2008 samantalang si Rio Locsin na gaganap na ina ni Angel sa The Legal Wife ay gumanap na ring ina ni Marian sa katatapos lang na Temptation of Wife noong 2013.
