Bret Jackson confirmed that he's aware of the issue that some people are putting malice on his friendship with kapamilya hunk James Reid.
In a press conference recently held for the remake movie "Angela Markado" where Andi Eigenmann plays the titular role, Bret denied that he and James are having an intimate relationship. Both actors are former housemates of ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother Teen Clash of 2010 where they started and developed their friendship.
“Sorry to disappoint, but we are not gay!” was Bret's direct denial of the issue. “You know, we just laugh it off. Nakakatawa kasi."
"I mean, are they serious when they think that we have a more intimate relationship? Can’t two men be good buddies and not be labeled as gay? Both James and I, we have nothing against two men having an intimate relationship", Bret added.
The kapatid actor also respects men who engage in same sex relationship but emphasized that he and best pal James are really, really good friends.
"That’s their choice and we respect that. Pero kami kasi ni James, we’re really, really very good friends. From the time that we first met sa Pinoy Big Brother five years ago, we’ve been friends and nobody was questioning that before."
"Siguro dahil pareho kaming artista kaya nilalagyan nila ng malice. Kaya kami ni James, pinagtatawanan na lang namin. There’s no reason for us to get mad because what they are thinking is not true."
In the end, Bret assured that both of them (James) are real men who like women. "We’re hot-blooded men and we like women! Everyone knows that James likes girls and I like girls too,”
