Angel Locsin renews contract with ABS-CBN and Star Cinema

Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN and its film arm Star Cinema on Thursday, October 29.

Present in the contract signing are network executives headed by ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio, Cory Vidanes, Malou Santos, Carlo Katigbak, Laurenti Dyogi, and Locsin's manager Manay Ethel Ramos.

Among the projects included in the new contract are a new tv series and a film with Coco Marin to be helmed by Olivia Lamasan. Her movie with Star for All Seasons Ms. Vilma Santos and heartthrob Xian Lim is Star Cinema's opening salvo for 2016.

Locsin, who appeared on Boy Abunda's nightly show two nights ago, revealed that she will no longer be donning the Darna suit in movies. The announcement was made after a mutual decision was agreed from the actress's camp and the network due to health reasons.

Locsin revealed during the interview that she had to go under treatment on her spine (a bulging disc) which she acquired from shooting the movie Love Me Again a few years ago.

TV Host Bianca Gonzalez has just given birth to a healthy baby girl. A photo was posted by her husband-cager JC Intal on his Instagram account @jcintal7 on October 23, Friday afternoon.

Kim Chiu tweets grievance over "misleading headline"

Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu aired her disappointment through her Twitter account @prinsesachinita over a "misleading headline" on Thursday afternoon.

Chiu did not specify where the misleading headline came from but fans of the actress are fuming mad at a tweet posted by ABS-CBN's entertainment website PUSH @Push_Alerts barely an hour before her tweet of disapproval.

The headline which says, "Kim Chiu looking gorgeous as usual at her Fat Out presscon. She tells PUSH what's up with her and Gerald Anderson! ;)" seem to have turned off the mood of the latest endorser of Fat Out.

Fans of Kim rallied against the tweet as they accused the entertainment website of dragging the actress to her former loveteam Gerald Anderson.

Etiquette For Mistresses grosses 63 million on its first week run

The latest movie from Star Cinema, Etiquette For Mistresses, which stars Kris Aquino, Claudine Barretto, Iza Calzado, Cheena, and Kim Chiu registered a total of PHP 63,681,347.00 on its first week run in theaters which premiered last September 30.

The figure was based in 160 screens.

Claudine Barretto, on her Instagram account., took a screenshot of  the weekend gross of Week 40 but the figure that showed up amounting to PHP 178,335,228 was the sum total of all the weekend gross of each movie shown for that specific week.

Elizabeth Ramsey dies in her sleep at 83

Veteran comedienne Elizabeth Ramsey passed away morning of Thursday, October 8. The news was confirmed by her daughter Jaya through her Facebook account.

And we quote, "Mama Beth is now with the Lord.” Full statement is posted below.

Before her death, Ms. Elizabeth was confined at the hospital due to stroke.

Born on December 3, 1931, Elizabeth Ramsey was a stand-up comedienne, singer and actress. Known for her trademark Visayan-accented dialogues, which she performs in English or Tagalog, she is regarded as the country's "Queen of Rock and Roll" and "Original Queen of Comedy".

She was last seen in ABS-CBN's Your Face Sounds Familiar last May 2015 when Kapamilya star and comedienne Melai Cantiveros made an impression of her which eventually made Cantiveros the first ever winner of the network's celebrity singing competition.

Cinemas Shoot Up to 400 For Felix Manalo Movie's First Day of Showing

From 300 cinemas, the Viva Films-produced biopic Felix Manalo is being screened in more than 400 cinemas nationwide as of this writing. The movie which tells the story of the religious organization Iglesia Ni Cristo's first Executive Minister made its pilot run in theaters today, October 7.

Bela Padilla who plays Honorata in the movie, wife of Bro. Felix Manalo, tweeted this afternoon that cinemas have grown to 400 according to her source.

In Twitter, various photos of people lined up to various cinemas across the country were posted. The largest mall chain in  the country announced on Twitter that they'll be opening their cinemas as early as 8 am tomorrow.

This is the only film (local or foreign) that has reached such a record-breaking number of cinemas to accommodate the movie-going public.

Viva Films has also confirmed through their Twitter account @Viva_Films that the movie has exceeded records set by any local or foreign movie in local box office.

The movie also broke two world records from Guiness when it premiered at The Philippine Arena last Sunday, October 4 for having the largest number of audience in a film premiere and the largest audience in a film screening with 43,624 attendees.

Pacquiao made the announcement on Monday, October 5, after his State of the District Address in the capital town of Alabel.
