Diamond Star Maricel Soriano signs contract with GMA

The Diamond Star Maricel Soriano has finally signed a contract Wednesday afternoon February 19 with GMA Network. Present in the contract signing are GMA CEO Felipe Gozon, Entertainment TV Group SVP Lilybeth Rasonable, Redgie Acuña-Magno, and Marivin Arayata.

Ms. Maricel Soriano is ecstatic after signing a program contract with GMA. She is set to do a drama series within the year to be paired off with Dingdong Dantes and Lovi Poe. "Sobrang excited ako kasi maganda ang istorya," says the Diamond Star.

The network executives are excited to be working with the Diamond Star and according to Rasonable, "She's a precious actress."

The contract is per project basis only.

Tado Jimenez's wife shaves off hair

Lei Jimenez, wife of Tado Jimenez, shaves off her hair as she fights for justice for her late husband. The comedian was one of the victims of the GV Florida bus crash in Mt. Province last February 7.

Lei Jimenez is lamenting the supposed lack of support from GV Florida after one of its buses fell off a cliff in Mt. Province last February 7, killing her husband and 14 others.

"If Tado were alive then he would have done the same to make his statement loud and clear. Tado has been an activist since our student days in PUP and he always made his political statement in a creative fashion," Lei was quoted by artist group Dakila as saying.

"This unfortunate loss of so many lives was caused by the irresponsibility of the GV Florida Bus Lines and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). They should be made accountable and justice should be served to the victims and their families," she said.

MYX Music Awards 2014 List of Awards and Nominees

Kris Aquino, hurt, mad, then lauds ex-suitor after being dumped

In an episode of Kris TV that aired last Monday February 17 on ABS-CBN, TV host/actress Kris Aquino shared her feelings to comedienne Pokwang and Erich Gonzales while on a road trip to Bataan.

Semi-heartbroken, that's how Kris describes the current state of her heart right now.

"It hurts.", started Aquino. "Kasi ako ang nasabihan na 'I never want to talk to you or text you for the rest of my life.' Aquino was referring to an unnamed man which was earlier reported the new suitor of the tv host.

"Ang sad, it hurts,  That's life. Kung pwede ko lang talaga ma-rewind at ma-edit kung ano ang nangyari. Nasabihan ako talaga. Kina-shocked ko talaga. 'Yun din ang sinabi ko, 'Ouch, how harsh," Aquino said.

Mad. Aquino who's birthday falls on a Valentine was mad that the guy dumped her before her birthday.

"Tapos sabi ko, 'Ate di man lang pinaabot sa birthday ko nakakainis. Doon ako buwisit na buwisit talaga," she added. But despite what happened, the actress-host said she is not giving up on love.

But Aquino still lauds the guy for being brutally honest. "Pero at least walang lokohan... Siguro grabe din ang nasabi ko. At least inaamin ko mayroon din akong fault," she added.

"Fault ko din naman," she said. "Kasi di ba if you won't give yourself a chance, how will you ever get a chance? I'm giving myself a chance," she said.

“Angel is really my favorite girl for Luis.” - Anne Curtis on Angel Locsin

“I’m so happy. Angel is really my favorite girl for Luis.”

This was Anne Curtis's statement regarding the reconciliation between her bestfriend Luis Manzano and good friend Angel Locsin. Luis who guested on Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday revealed he and ex-girlfiriend Angel had reconciled together.

"Both of you be good para kayo na talaga", Curtis said referring to Luis and Angel.

“Just stay in love, mukha naman kayong in love na in love so just keep it that way and I’m looking forward to what the future has in store for the both of you,” she added.

Anne Curtis who celebrated her 29th birthday with some of her closest friends in and out of showbiz yesterday February 17 in Hotel Rembrandt in Quezon City.

When asked what if current boyfriend Erwan Heusaff propose to her a wedding the actress downplayed the idea. “Feeling ko, hindi pa, because he’s two years younger than me,”

So what if he's two years younger than her? That doesn't change the fact that he'll always be two years younger than her.

“Wala pa sa isip ko… When it happens, it happens. Maybe in three to four years. I’d like to focus on my career at the moment, pero if it happens, it happens. I’m not gonna peg na kailangan in four years, propose. As of now, I think we’re both concentrating on our careers.”

Meanwhile, Curtis turned down intrigues and criticisms regarding her portrayal as Dyesebel on ABS-CBN. “That’s nothing compared to what I’ve been through. I don’t think anything could really hurt me anymore, parang di ka na naa-affect.”

The actress seemed tougher as if nothing's gonna her hurt anymore after the slapping incident she braved last year.

Atty. Raymond Fortun resigns as spokesman to Cedric Lee

Raymond Fortun has resigned as spokesman to Cedric Lee and Deniece Cornejo, the ones whoe accused Vhong Navarro of rape and involved in mauling of the tv  host/actor a month ago.

Fortun had only been signed on as Lee's spokesman for 12 days, before he decided to resign because of a breach in their agreement, as well as public backlash he said he and his clients received.

The lawyer cited the incident of Cornejo granting an interview to media regarding the CCTV video where she and Lee was seen kissing/necking inside the elevator.

In a letter addressed to Lee, released by Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, February 16, Fortun, said Lee’s party breached one of their agreements when Cornejo aired a statement without the approval of their legal counsel or spokesman.

The letter is published below.

Dear Cedric,

I had been engaged as your spokesman with the objective of being the media’s contact person in all legal as well as factual issues as may be consistent with the thrust of your legal counsels. In this regard, I had faithfully complied with this mandate for the past 12 days, even at peril to my own reputation as a lawyer.

Together with this mandate was an agreement that no statements shall by anybody from your group without the consent/approval of your counsels and/or spokesman. This has been breached last night.

My personal desire to help you notwithstanding the adverse publicity that you have been receiving is precisely to educate the public on the need to temper their emotions in light of your Constitutional rights to due process, to counsel of your choice, to present a valid and lawful defense, and to confront your accusers in the proper legal setting.

The past several days had made me realize that this country is NOT YET READY to accept these legal concepts, to which I squarely lay the blame on inaccurate reportage and the unprofessional actions of certain law enforcement agencies. That being the case and for the earlier reason mentioned, and in light of my inability to perform the functions for which I was hired, I regret that I must resign as your spokesman effective immediately.

Nonetheless, and in light of the lessons I have learned during my short stint as your spokesman, I will henceforth be devoting some of my time to: (i) ask congressmen to enact legislation so that ALL PERSONS who MAY be facing criminal prosecution be duly informed of their rights (e.g. to remain silent, to the presence of a lawyer etc.) before they are interviewed by TV networks.

People accused of crimes also have rights which need to be protected against media frenzy and unfair pre-judgments; and (ii) ask the Supreme Court to resolve the issues in respect of the Constitutionality of the Anti-Cybercrime Law, in order to address the matter of cyber-libels against Filipino citizens. People do have the right to express their opinions about issues, but such freedom does not grant a license to bully, hurl invectives or otherwise destroy one’s reputation without factual basis.
