Marian Rivera admits Kung Fu Divas flopped at the box office

marian river admits kung fu divas flopped

Marian Rivera promises to be more picky to every project that comes. This is in relation to a handful of consecutive flop movies she has done in the past few years. The latest was her movie partnership with Comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas - Kung Fu Divas.

Quoting the article published in Manila Bulletin yesterday,
"Apparently, the actress is still smarting from the box-office drubbing that Kung Fu Divas,  received at the box-office."
“Sinasabi ko nga, sa movie, hindi mo talaga alam kung ano papatok... ano ang taste ng masa, taste ng viewers,” the actress said in a separate interview to PEP.

But the actress is still optimistic on doing more movie projects in the future.“Wala namang masama kung mag-try ka nang mag-try, as long as maganda ’yung quality ng pelikula mo at proud ka – kumita man ‘yan o hindi. Ang mahalaga, na-appreciate ka ng tao’", she said.

Mother Lily, Regal Films matriarch where the actress has still two standing movie project contract, consoled and advised her not to be always after the money but consider the quality of the projects she does to.

“Sabi ko naman, totoo nga naman, kasi minsan, ang tao, ’pag gumawa ng pelikula, kahit hindi maganda, basta blockbuster, okay na, e, ’bi ba?

Rivera will be starring in a straight drama this year under Regal Films. Her tv series Carmela with Alden Richards is set to premiere this January on GMA7.

My Little Bossings, criticised for excessive ad placements

The MMFF 3rd Best Picture and the festival's currnet number 1 movie at the box office My Little Bossings is currently facing left and right criticisms for excessive showing of commercial products being endorsed by its lead star Vic Sotto and Kris Aquino.

In an open letter written by Lourd De Veyra addressed to Vic Sotto, the tv host/commentarist condemned heavily the ad placements of pancit canton, cough syrup, detergent powder and other products endorsed not only by him but by Kris Aquino as well.

De Veyra further added that Sotto wasted the trust given to him by the public as one of showbiz's most powerful personalities. Here's a part of the letter...

An Open Letter to Vic Sotto
By Lourd de Veyra (spot.ph)

"Sabihin na lang natin na hindi ako ang audience ng My Little Bossings. At tama nga—paglabas ko ng sinehan, puro mga chikiting ang nakapila. Obvious naman kung anong demographic ang puntirya nito. Alam ko ang unang depensa niyo ng mga producers: hindi ako ang audience niyo. “Eh di huwag ka na lang manood.” Pero huwag naman ganun, Bossing."

"Gaano niyo ba kabilis ginawa ito? May pakiramdam ito na parang tatlong araw lang eh, parang minadali, or what we in our circles refer to as: PNY (“Puwede na ’yan.”)"

But this is the best you can come up with? ’Wag niyo sabihing “Pinaghirapan namin ito,” dahil maglolokohan lang tayo."

Spotted: Anne Curtis partying and dancing with friends in a luxury club

No. This is not the same club in Taguig City where Anne Curtis was seen slapping John Lloyd Cruz and two other friends.

This is a commercial shoot for a liquor brand she's endorsing. Uploaded by Viva Entertainment (Anne's handler) a little more than 3 months before the controversy happened, the actress was seen with fellow It's Showtime hosts Teddy and Jugs plus Calla Lily frontman Kean Cipriano.

Anne Curtis definitely knows how to party and without no doubt the life of the party.

Sharon Cuneta calls showbiz the most ungrateful business

Sharon Cuneta once again took to Twitter on December 30 her rants ands feeling regarding her followers who continuously bash her on the said social media website. The Megastar started her tweets recalling how life was simpler, that is, during the time that Internet is still not known.

“I remember when life was simpler... When people had some degree of respect for one another because it was just a natural thing... And if and when one had an issue with someone, it was discussed face to face, or closed by a well-meaning 3rd person…."

“I have worked hard for 36 years, have earned respect the hard way... Worked maybe even harder than any other actress because I wanted to prove I wasn't just what they called me which was 'poor little rich girl...'"

“I respected people and in return, was loved and appreciated..."

Cuneta recalled how she worked hard for 36 years just to earn respect the hard way but she still seemed clueless as to how people act in Twitter or any social media platform.

"So it is hard for me to accept that on Twitter, no matter how good you are to your followers, no matter how you go out of your way to make people happy, there will always be some who will show you disrespect, kahit nananahimik ka...

“They will start something and then when you exercise your right to defend yourself, ikaw at ikaw lang ang lalabas na masama... I don't have to prove to anyone that I am a good human being...

“Perhaps others can talk about how I was as a girl just starting to sing, make movies... How I treated them even then, and how I continue to show them respect when they deserve it...”

“How easily people forget that I once maybe made them, or their mom, or someone they love, happy......

“How easily they forget that I have given about 1/3 of my whole life to this most ungrateful business..."

“The awards, the box-office queen trophies, the top-rating shows and #1 singles and albums...

"But even if they have, or do, I hope they remember more than any contribution I have made to my beloved industry the way I lived my life, raised my daughter with only the help of my parents and friends, how good of a daughter I have been..."

“And how much I loved my public. Maybe they'll even remember how very much they loved me...”

“I DON’T DESERVE THE OBSCENE, PAINFUL WORDS… And maybe they will think of me enough to remember that I don't deserve the obscene, painful words I certainly did not grow up hearing around me - just being thrown at me by people hiding behind anonymity, enjoying a very false sense of power...
“I built my career without social networking - arrived where I got without a twitter account. I know you'll understand if I do not use twitter for some time and just go back to living my happy life with those who truly love me and who deserve my love..."

“May you all have a blessed, wonderful 2014, and thank you to my loving followers for your support... I will be eternally grateful... I love you all. God bless you.”
